Brady BMP21 Label Printer
The Brady BMP21 Portable Label Printer prints via thermal transfer at 203 dots per inch (dpi) on a variety of materials, and uses easy-to-load cartridges and automatic label formatting. With a simple ABC keyboard, the Brady BMP21 prints in character sizes up to 3/4" wide and up to 1.5" long. For use in identifying a variety of items, from cables to equipment, this label printer prints single- or multi-line, in six character sizes: 6, 9, 14, 20, 28 and 40 point, including bold, auto sizing, and bold auto sizing styles. Use the BMP21 to create self-laminating labels, wire marker sleeves, nylon cloth, and continuous tape labels with 203 dpi for clear, crisp printing. The thermal transfer printing method stays bright and lasts longer than direct thermal printing.
The BMP21 has 80 unique symbols (13 for voice/data communications technology), and code 39 or code 128 barcodes. The backlit LCD is easy-to-read and measures 2" by 1" (50.8 mm x 25.4 mm). Press print once for multi-print or serial, and labeler has a cutter button on each side for right- or left-hand use. Quick-loading cartridge makes switching jobs faster than other label printers; the label printer automatically senses the cartridge label type and size. Label retention keeps the label secure in the printer until label is needed. Labeler can hold a continuous roll up to 21" long. The memory feature stores the last-used setup. The label printer is 1.66 pounds and runs on (6) AA-batteries (not included) or optional AC power (power cord not included), and automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of nonuse. On battery power, it will print approximately 1,512 labels that are 2"(50.8 mm ) long. Built-in bumpers help protect corners from harsh field conditions. The printer and its printing materials are Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant for reducing the amount of hazardous materials used in producing electronic and electrical equipment.
Label printers, also called label makers or labelers, are a type of computer printer that print on rolled stock or fanfold stock. Label printers are used for many purposes, including asset management, price marking, packaging labels, laboratory specimen marking, and naming file folders. Label printers use a variety of printing technologies, such as laser, thermal transfer and direct thermal mechanisms. Some label printers may interface with a computer to create special types of labels, such as barcodes, while other label printers can create special content using the printer’s own operating system.

CA 15-3 ELISA Kit
INTENDED USE
The CA15-3 for the quantitative determination of the Cancer Antigen CA15-3 concentration in human serum. This kit is intended for research use only.
SUMMARY AND EXPLANATION
Breast cancer is the most common life-threatening malignant lesion in women of many developed countries today, with approximately 180,000 new cases diagnosed every year. Roughly half of these newly diagnosed patients are node-negative, however 30% of these cases progress to metastatic disease.
There are a number of tumor markers that can help clinicians to identify and diagnose which breast cancer patients will have aggressive disease and which will have an indolent course. These markers include estrogen and progesterone receptors, DNA ploidy and percent-S phase profile, epidermal growth factor receptor, HER-2/neu oncogene, p53 tumor suppressor gene, cathepsin D, proliferation markers and CA15-3. CA15-3 is most useful for monitoring patients post-operatively for recurrence, particularly metastatic
diseases. 96% of patients with local and systemic recurrence have elevated CA15-3, which can be used to predict recurrence earlier than radiological and clinical criteria. A 25% increase in the serum CA15-3 is associated with progression of carcinoma. A 50% decrease in serum CA15-3 is associated with response to treatment. CA15-3 is more sensitive than CEA in early detection of breast cancer recurrence. In combination with CA125, CA15-3 has been shown to be useful in early detection of relapse of ovarian
cancer. CA15-3 levels are also increased in colon, lung and hepatic tumors.
PRINCIPLE OF THE TEST
The CA15-3 ELISA test is based on the principle of a solid phase enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The assay system utilizes a monoclonal antibody directed against a distinct antigenic determinant on the intact CA15-3 molecule is used for solid phase immobilization (on the microtiter wells). A rabbit anti-CA15-3 antibody conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRPO) is in the antibody-enzyme conjugate solution. The test sample is allowed to react sequentially with the two antibodies, resulting in the CA15-3 molecules being sandwiched between the solid phase and enzyme-linked antibodies. After two separate 1-hour incubation steps at 37C, the wells are washed with water to remove unbound labeled antibodies. A solution of TMB Reagent is added and incubated for 20 minutes, resulting in the development of a blue color. The color development is stopped with the addition of Stop Solution changing the color to yellow. The concentration of CA15-3 is directly proportional to the color intensity of the test sample. Absorbance is measured spectrophotometrically at 450 nm.
EnzyChrom Adipolysis Assay Kit
Quick Overview:
Quantitative assay of adipolysis by measuring glycerol released in cell culture using colorimetric (570nm) or fluorimetric (530nm/590nm) methods. Procedure: 20 min. Detection limit: 0.92 g/mL. Shelf life: 3 months. Shipping: on ice; storage: 4, -20C.
Description:
Obesity is a chronic condition that develops from storage of excessive energy in the form of adipose tissue. The resulting adiposity presents a high risk factor for diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. ADIPOLYSIS or lipolysis is a ighly regulated process in fat metabolism, in which triglycerides are broken down into glycerol and free fatty acids. Rapid, robust and accurate procedures for adipolysis quantification in cell culture are very useful in research and drug discovery. BioAssay Systems' dipolysis assay kit directly measures glycerol released during adipolysis. This homogeneous assay uses a single Working Reagent that combines glycerol kinase, glycerol phosphate oxidase and color reactions in one step. The color intensity of the reaction product t 570nm is directly proportional to glycerol concentration in the sample.
Applications:
- Direct Assays: adipolysis (glycerol in cell culture media).
- Drug Discovery/Pharmacology: effects of testing drugs on adipolysis.

DESCRIPTION
The DetectX® Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) Immunoassay kits are designed to quantitatively measure PGE2 present in serum, plasma, urine, saliva and tissue culture media samples. Standards or diluted samples are pipetted into an antibody coated microtiter plate. A PGE2-peroxidase conjugate is added to the wells and the binding reaction is initiated by the addition of a monoclonal antibody to PGE2. After a 2 hour incubation the plate is washed and substrate is added. The substrate reacts with the bound PGE2-peroxidase conjugate. After a 30 minute incubation, the reaction is stopped and the plate read at 450nm.
Prostaglandins are synthesized from arachidonic acid by cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 or -2, which convert the acid into PGH2. This is further processed by cytosolic or microsomal prostaglandin synthases to become PGE2 or one of several other prostanoids. Prostacyclin is the major cyclooxygenase product in blood vessel walls and it is present in inflammatory fluids in similar concentrations to PGE2. PGE2 is a potent vasodilator and produces hyperalgesia. PGE2 is produced by a wide variety of tissues and in several pathological conditions, including inflammation, arthritis, fever, tissue injury, endometriosis, and a variety of cancers.
