AlbuVoid™ - Albumin Depletion Plus Low Abundance Serum Protein Enrichment
- Albumin voids in flow-through >95%, with <30 minute bind/wash/elute protocol
- Low abundance enrichment equivalent or better than hexa-peptides or antibodies
- Disposable, cost-effective, no column regeneration or cross-contamination
- Mild elution maintains tertiary structure and simple transfer to secondary analysis
- The eluted fractions retain their enzymatic and biological activity
- Removes albumin from many species including human, mouse, sheep, bovine, goat, rat, calf, cell culture.
- The eluted fraction is compatible with LC-MS, activity based protein profiling and proteomic studies.
AlbuVoid™ is a albumin depletion reagent kit. It removes albumin from serum and plasma samples while concentrating low abundance, and/or low molecular weight proteins. The AlbuVoid™ protocol uses mild buffers; the protocol conditions are so gentle that native enzyme activity is retained in elution fractions. AlbuVoid™ considerably enhances resolution of proteins below 50 kD, a limitation of alternate enrichment protocols.
AlbuVoid™ does not bind albumin. All other proteins(except albumin) in the sample binds to AlbuVoid™ and then you can elute off all the proteins minus the albumin. Resulting in low abundance serum protein enrichment. It is ideal for applications involving biomarker discovery, enzyme assays, toxicological studies for new drugs, protein profiling using SELDI analysis, protein array pixelation ,1D and 2D gel electrophoresis, LC/MS, and MALDI-TOF MS and cytokines research.
AlbuVoid™ derives from a silica-based library of individual mixed-mode polymeric ligands. The library was designed to facilitate weak binding of proteins, allowing for rapid elution from the matrix without any foreknowledge of the variety of proteins contained in the starting sample. Because of its specific binding properties, AlbuVoid™ depletes high abundance proteins in serum like albumin while improving the resolution of less abundant serum proteins.

AlbuSorb™ Albumin Depletion Kit
- Removes >90% albumin from 30 mg albumin/ml sample
- Affinity-type equivalence, virtually no cross-reactivity with other proteins
- Bind and elute procedure - simply weigh powder, condition the sample, centrifuge and/or filter, and recover the albumin depleted serum
- Economical new surface technology, not based on affinity chromatography
- Mild conditions maintain tertiary structure of proteins and simple transfer to secondary analysis
- The albumin depleted filtrate retains the enzymatic and biological activity
- Removes albumin from samples such as serum, plasma and from species including human, mouse, sheep, bovine, goat, rat, and calf
- The flow through fraction is compatible with LC-MS, activity based protein profiling and proteomic studies.
Albusorb™ is an albumin depletion reagent supplied as a kit with necessary buffers. With 25ul of starting sample, the yield of albumin depleted serum protein is 0.1-0.2 milligrams. Albusorb™ binds albumin from serum or plasma and is compatible with downstream proteomics methods such as protein array pixelation ,1D and 2D gel electrophoresis, LC/MS, and MALDI-TOF MS. Samples are also prepared for biomarker discovery, toxicological studies for new drugs, enzyme assays, protein profiling using SELDI analysis and cytokines research.
AlbuSorb™ binds to albumin, and serum proteins flow through. Removal of albumin allows enhanced detection of low abundance proteins. AlbuSorb™ comes from a silica-based, separation platform utilizing a new combination of surface microenvironments substituted with low molecular substrates that feature drug-binding motifs. Unlike immuno-affinity, the surfaces utilized are disposable eliminating cycle to cycle variance and cross-contamination.

HemogloBind™ Hemoglobin Depletion From Hemolyzed Serum/Plasma
- Has a high degree of specificity for hemoglobin binding up to 10 mg/ml
- Applications in blood substitutes, enzyme recovery and analytical interferences
- Removes hemoglobin from any species including human, sheep, bovine, goat, etc
- Removes hemoglobin from organs, tissues.
- Hemoglobin removal from red blood cell lysate for proteomics and biomarker drug discovery
- The flow through fractions retain their enzymatic and biological activity
- The flow through fractions is compatible with LC-MS, activity based protein profiling and proteomic studies.
HemogloBind™ comes from a class of solid-phase, or surface-based, elastomeric poly-electrolytic surfaces that bind proteins through an empirically derived chemistry combining elements of polymer composition, cross-linking architecture and charge properties. HemogloBind™ is engineered for a high degree of selectivity and does not cross react with most common serum components, making it an excellent tool in numerous applications. These include analytical protocols where optical interference is problematic, such as bilirubin analysis and bulk serum clarification. Hemoglobin variants, as in thalassemia, bind with differential affinity towards HemogloBind™. For purification and/or analysis of hemoglobin, a modest elevation in pH will facilitate desorption of hemoglobin bound to HemogloBind™

International Year of Crystallography
INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF CRYSTALLOGRAPHY - 100 years since Nobel Prize for X–ray diffraction
In 1914, the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Max von Laue for making the connection between X–ray diffraction angles and the size and orientation of spacing between units in a crystal. In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming this year as the International Year of Crystallography. UNESCO and the International Union of Crystallography have been invited to facilitate this proclamation and have put together a year–long program.
CRYO SHUTTER - Annealing is a promising technique to improve poorly diffracting crystals
Cooling your sample to cryo–conditions helps protect the structure of a crystal from radiation and thermal motion. Poor cryo–cooling can increase the sample's mosaicity, leading to poor diffraction data. A brief interruption of the cryo–stream can warm then re–cool the crystal and potentially reduce mosaicity.
The Cryo Shutter, developed by Dr. Uwe Mueller, MX-Lab at BESSY-II, HZB Berlin-Adlershoto is an automated system for crystal annealing, ready for installation on Cryojet (Oxford Instruments) and Cryostream 700 Systems (Oxford Cryosystems).
Features:
• Precise interruption of the cryostream
• Reproducible crystal annealing
• Extremely fast closing and opening of the shutter prevents turbulences
